Eggs and Inception

Last night Hannah's brother and cousin were staying at our place.  After the afternoon activities we hung out at the house for a bit and then struck out for a late dinner.  Following a short discussion we ended up at the closest restaurant to our house - half a block away - Eagle Boys Pizza (an Australian pizza chain).  They settled on peri peri (they spell it with 'e's, not 'i's) chicken pizza and meat lovers but the final choice was left to me for pizza three.  On the menu they have the "Aussie Bacon and Egg" pizza - I couldn't resist the appeal of the strange combination.

While my compatriots were skeptical (we had talked earlier about the acceptable usage of eggs in consumption - pizza topping was not on the list of ways it should be ingested) the pizza actually ended up being a success.  America, get on the train... eggs on pizza works.

We then, with a bit of work, rearranged our living room to let us all watch a movie together.  We selected Inception and had a great evening chatting after the movie before heading to bed.

This morning we made French toast and I did some work (writing a short paper, etc.).  In the afternoon Abs and I took a walk to Darling Harbour for an Indian festival for Holi (a holiday).  It turned out not much was doing, so we wandered around the Harbour a bit and then walked back via Pyrmont and Broadway (where I stopped for some groceries).  The highlight of the afternoon was crossing Pyrmont Bridge and getting to watch it open (it spins) for a sail boat.  The coolest part is that the monorail track which was added to the bridge in the 1980s is able to operate independently of the rest of the bridge, allowing for boats which are only slightly too tall to go under the bridge pass even as the monorail track stays in place.  As this was the case today, a monorail went overhead even as the bridge was open for a boat to pass underneath!

Our weekend guests have left, and it is almost dinner time here.  Nothing too crazy on the agenda for the first part of the week and I have work in the morning...
